Metten presents the re-invention of the can

“Dicke Sauerländer Bockwurst” in the practical aroma-sealed pail – Awarded the “taste_09” Innovation Prize at the ANUGA Trade Fair

Finnentrop/Sauerland, 9 October 2009 – Metten Meat Products from Sauerland presents from 10 to 14 October at the ANUGA Food Trade Fair in Cologne the re-invention of the classic can: the snappy “Dicke Sauerländer Bockwurst“ (Frankfurter) will in future be offered in a practical sales pack which also keeps for several months uncooled. This is in addition to our regular range. What is new and so far unique is that the sausages keep fresh for up to six months in the eye-catching red and blue pail. With its originality closure, foil seal and a plastic lid, the pail is easy to open and close again. Tobias Metten, Marketing Manager of the Company, is very pleased with this new product: “With this innovation, Metten is the first company of the industry to offer a pre-cooked sausage in brine with a non-cooled shelf-life of several months. Up to now, this was only possible with tinplate cans or glass packs. The numerous advantages of plastic packing such as weight reduction, product safety and resource conservation can now be used for the production of canned foods .“ For this achievement, the Metten Company will be awarded the “taste_09” Innovation Prize at the ANUGA Trade Fair in Cologne.
